Community Autism Training & Safety (CATS) Program
Our Community Autism Training & Safety department provides evidence-based education and hands on training for professionals who regularly interact with individuals with autism and other neurodivergent needs.
Many community based businesses and service providers including dental offices, schools, law enforcement, swim instructors, customer service teams, community services and activities leaders, and medical professionals serve individuals with autism daily, often without formal training. This gap can lead to safety risks, miscommunication, service disruption, and unnecessary distress for both staff and clients.
Our training is developed and delivered by professionals with over six years of real-world experience working directly in the field. We focus on practical, applicable strategies that improve safety, communication, and trust across community environments.
Our Training Covers:
Understanding autism and neurodiversity
Sensory preferences, sensitivities, and triggers
Early signs of behavioral escalation
Communication differences and supportive strategies
Trauma-informed and respectful interactions
De-escalation and safety-focused responses
By equipping organizations with the right tools and knowledge, we help create safer, more inclusive environments while strengthening trust between service providers and the communities they serve.
This department supports our clinic’s mission by extending autism support beyond therapy settings and into the everyday environments where individuals
live, learn, and work.
